GREAT NEWS!

Pop Pride & Prejudice

More 4

As part of a season to mark the 50-year anniversary of the decriminalization of homosexuality in the UK (1967), Alleycats has been commissioned by Channel 4’s History department to make a film telling the story of how pop music helped to win mainstream status for queer culture. From Little Richard to Boy George, Janis Joplin to Peaches, it’s the story of the fearless & flamboyant artists – global icons & hidden heroes – who used pop music as gay culture’s Trojan Horse, seducing us all with a soundtrack to die for. The film has been directed by Chris Wilson, who previously made our film about Derry legends The Undertones, and broadcast in July 2017.
